The Psalms Christian Academy Ambassadors will head out on the road to face off against Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Psalms Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
Psalms Christian Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Word of God Academy by a score of 13-9. That's two games straight that the Ambassadors have won by exactly four runs.
Nataleigh Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Eddington, who got on base in five of her nine plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Ava Bass was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on April 3rd. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Force a 10-0 shutout. Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.
Like Psalms Christian Academy, Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool also got a great game from a two-way player: Eliza Long. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Long has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Alyse Sistrunk was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cheryl Dishong, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Word of God Academy only posted an OBP of .167.
Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool's record now sits at 9-2. As for Psalms Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Psalms Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Psalms Christian Academy suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Ambassadors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
