This season hasn't been kind to The Chenango Valley Warriors, who are still winless after their seventh match. They had to suffer through a rough 47-6 loss at the hands of Chenango Forks. While losing is never fun, Chenango Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 530th, while Chenango Forks is ranked 91st).
Chenango Valley's loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-0 Maine-Endwell and 6-1 Windsor Central (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.4% over those games). As for Chenango Forks, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chenango Valley will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Owego Free Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. As for Chenango Forks, they will challenge Sidney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
