John Paul the Great Academy has gone a perfect 4-0 against First Baptist Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Guardians will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. John Paul the Great Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully First Baptist Christian likes a good challenge.

The Guardians have beaten the Vultures the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vultures has come to flipping the script.

John Paul the Great Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Charpentier, who rushed for 82 yards and three scores, and also threw for 28 yards and one TD. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Charpentier a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Riley Lormand, who rushed for 60 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, First Baptist Christian hadn't done well against Northshore V recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way two weeks ago. The Eagles took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-14 win over the Vultures.
John Paul the Great Academy better keep an eye on Judah Pritchard. He was instrumental in First Baptist Christian's win, rushing for 15 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
First Baptist Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 285 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 204 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to First Baptist Christian's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Nate Hill. Those three sacks set a new season-high mark for him.
John Paul the Great Academy's record is now 7-0. As for First Baptist Christian, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground. John Paul the Great Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 321.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like First Baptist Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 193 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's match turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for John Paul the Great Academy against First Baptist Christian in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 46-0 win. Will the Guardians repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
