The Union City Soaring Eagles will look to defend their home field on Friday against the West Orange Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. Union City will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Union City can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 41-7 win over Hackensack. With Union City ahead 21-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Mark Boyd went supernova for Union City, rushing for 203 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Boyd was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Koffa, who rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Meanwhile, West Orange didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Plainfield on Friday, but they still walked away with a 25-21 win.
Their wins bumped Union City to 8-1 and West Orange to 5-4.
Union City lost to West Orange at home by a decisive 33-14 margin in their previous meeting back in October of 2021. Can Union City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
