The Wellington-Napoleon Tigers were the 29-21 winner over the Oak Grove Panthers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Wellington-Napoleon took a 36-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Grove on Wednesday. Wellington-Napoleon just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Corinna Utterback, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Miller, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Wellington-Napoleon's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Oak Grove, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Wellington-Napoleon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sweet Springs at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Sweet Springs is ranked 304th, while Wellington-Napoleon is ranked 320th). As for Oak Grove, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Summit Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
