WestSide has been on the road for two straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the West Logan Christian Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Shelby Valley scored an imposing 72 points on Saturday, WestSide still came out on top. WestSide managed a 76-72 win over the Wildcats. Given WestSide's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 41st in West Virginia, while the Wildcats are ranked 167th in Kentucky), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
WestSide's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden French led the charge by scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadien Vance, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, West Logan Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Patriots on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 44-40 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for West Logan Christian Academy.
WestSide is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for West Logan Christian Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6.
WestSide skirted past the Warriors 74-72 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does WestSide have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
