The St. Johns Redskins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season. They really took it to Pinon for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-21 win on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-10.
St. Johns got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ellie Heap out in front who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Josie Overson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
St. Johns' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. As for Pinon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Johns will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Many Farms at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. After both having extra time off, Pinon and Hopi will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
