Meanwhile, Southington faced Platt in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Blue Knights had just enough and edged out the Panthers 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Knights.
Gabe Hinkson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
