The Sylmar Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by San Fernando at home to the tune of 87-38. The victory was nothing new for Sylmar as they're now sitting on three straight.
Sylmar found their leader in underclassman Joseph Dickson, who scored 19 points along with seven assists. Dickson hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Gustavo Lopez, who scored 16 points.
Despite the defeat, San Fernando saw an underclassman step up: Gavin Reyes scored 19 points. Reyes also scored 15+ points for the first time this season. Victor Marin was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Sylmar's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for San Fernando, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Sylmar will head out on the road to face off against Kennedy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Fernando, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Panorama at 4:30 p.m.
