The Wakulla Christian School Saints will head out on the road to challenge the Aucilla Christian Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wakulla Christian School comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Wakulla Christian School suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 74-30 loss at the hands of Byne Christian.
Defeat or not, Wakulla Christian School got some senior leadership from Langston Stephens and Seth Barwick. Stephens scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Barwick. scored nine points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Barwick posted two or more blocks.
Meanwhile, Aucilla Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Meadowbrook Academy 43-38. Aucilla Christian found out winning isn't easy when you nail six fewer threes than your opponent.
Aucilla Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ethan Bass, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and four steals, and Benjamin Faglie who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Faglie hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Eli Conrad was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three blocks.
Wakulla Christian School bumped their record down to 0-9 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Aucilla Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Wakulla Christian School have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 30 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Aucilla Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 32.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Wakulla Christian School couldn't quite finish off Aucilla Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 50-47. Can Wakulla Christian School avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
