The Soroco Rams struggled with offensive rebounds on Saturday (the Hayden Tigers had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Soroco fell 59-51 to the Tigers. Soroco has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Soroco lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rachelle Dudley. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dudley has scored all season. Anna Rushton was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Hayden was led to victory by Jenna Kleckler and Taryn Schlim. Kleckler scored 24 points along with four steals, while Schlim dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Schlim scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Ella Harris, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Soroco's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Hayden, their win bumped their record up to 2-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Soroco will take on the Saints at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vail Christian has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Hayden, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Sailors at 6:00 p.m.
