Lake Cormorant were the 65-54 winner over the Grenada Chargers when they last played one another on January 5th, but their luck changed this time around. Lake Cormorant fell 64-56 to Grenada on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Grenada's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kelton Jones led the charge by scoring 21 points along with two steals. Jones has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Howard, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Lake Cormorant's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Grenada, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-11.
Lake Cormorant will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Center Hill at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Center Hill is ranked 75th, while Lake Cormorant is ranked 53rd). As for Grenada, they will head out on the road to take on South Panola at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Panola is out to stop a nine-game streak of losses at home.
