On Friday, the St. Francis Knights faced the Galloway Scots in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Francis slipped by Galloway 71-70. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Sa'Mya Wyatt, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Camryn Golston, who scored 12 points.
St. Francis' victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-5. As for Galloway, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
St. Francis' road trip will continue as they head out to face IMG Academy at 12:30 p.m. on January 15th. IMG Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 matchups -- so hopefully St. Francis likes a good challenge. As for Galloway, they will face off against Carver at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Carver is ranked 37th, while Galloway is ranked 25th).
