Hazard is a perfect 10-0 against Breathitt County since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs will face off against the Bobcats at 6:45 p.m. Hazard's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Breathitt County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Hazard's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Leslie County. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs.
Gaige Logan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Talon Goins was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Breathitt County and Estill County had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bobcats skirted past the Engineers 4-3. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Engineers: they've now won six in a row.
Like Hazard, Breathitt County also got a great game from a two-way player: Blake Hudson. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hudson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Hudson wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Combs, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another was Sebastian Howard, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
Hazard's record is now 10-1. As for Breathitt County, their record now sits at 8-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hazard has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Breathitt County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hazard was able to grind out a solid victory over Breathitt County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
