The Timpview Thunderbirds posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Springville 45-43. Given Timpview's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Springville is ranked 76th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lina Ballin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Aiaiaga Galea'i was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Timpview is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Springville, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-11.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Maple Mountain the next time they take the court. Springville will head out to face Maple Mountain at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Timpview will host them at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
