Reedsburg hasn't had much luck against Waunakee recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Beavers will be playing at home against the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. Reedsburg will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Friday, Reedsburg needed a bit of extra time to put away DeForest. They had just enough and edged out the Norskies 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Beavers have posted since April 26th.

Cheyenne Raupp spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kylee Molitor and Gretchen Rockweiler did most of the damage at the plate: Molitor went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run, while Rockweiler went 3-for-5 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Molitor has posted since back in April. Abbie Scott also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Waunakee let Vel Phillips Memorial stack seven runs on them in the fourth inning on Friday but luckily Waunakee prevailed anyway. The Warriors blew past the Spartans 14-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Zaria Hyman looked comfortable as she pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Audra Ubersox, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Lauren Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Waunakee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Reedsburg pushed their record up to 13-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Waunakee, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Reedsburg might still be hurting after the 11-4 loss they got from Waunakee in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Can the Beavers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
