After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Holbrook, The Pinon Eagles were happy to have found some success on Friday. They didn't even let Hopi onto the board and left with a 8-0 win. For Pinon, this counts as revenge for the 38-20 loss Hopi walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Pinon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Silas Kaye out in front who rushed for 162 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Kaye was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Manuelito, who rushed for 82 yards on only seven carries.
Pinon's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points per game. As for Hopi, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Pinon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hopi also has no future games currently scheduled.
