The Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Lion posted their biggest win since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past St. Thomas More Academy 70-28 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill.
Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zachary Powery, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Powery has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kyren Smith, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 7 assists.
John Paul Mack and Joe Fraticelli certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Mack scored four points along with three steals and two blocks, while Fraticelli scored six points.
Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for St. Thomas More Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill will face off against Thales Academy Apex at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Thales Academy Apex focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for St. Thomas More Academy, St. Thomas More Academy and Father Capodanno will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Father Capodanno is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
