Ben L. Smith extended their postseason success on Friday against Crest. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 win over the Crest Chargers. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Eagles sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was D'Various Surratt, who went 6-for-11 en route to 20 points and five boards. Surratt's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Cal Pass Jr. was another key player, shooting 63% from the field on his way to 11 points and six rebounds.
Ben L. Smith pushed their record up to 27-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Crest, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-4.
Looking ahead, Ben L. Smith will challenge Huss at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Huss will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Ben L. Smith surely won't give up without a fight. Crest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
