The biggest upset of the week belonged to Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, who took down 183rd ranked Germantown Academy, 28-14.
Episcopal Academy extended the longest winning streak in Inter-Academic this week by beating Malvern Prep, 26-7. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Episcopal Academy's dynamic duo of Adam Strouss and Ian Strain proved tough for the Friars to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Strouss threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns and Strain had 147 yards receiving. Quinn Hager helped Episcopal Academy's passing attack out by catching four balls for 70 yards.
Matt Galambos was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 88 yards as Haverford School bested Malvern Prep. Teammate Chris Morgan added to the ground attack by rushing for 78 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Strouss of the Churchmen is the league leader in passing yards this season with 877. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, the Fords' Galambos has rushed for 673 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Morgan. The Haverford School star has 29 catches for 468 yards.
A big matchup in Inter-Academic this week will be when Haverford School takes on Kevin Pellegrini's team. As it stands, Michael Murphy's team is in second, while the Friars are in third.
The Blue Devils moved up to 206 from 246 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Patriots 28-14.
