Chico (Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
Shasta (Redding, Calif.), 49-20, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Cordero Rios in the first quarter, the Panthers led 28-13 at the half.
Chico expanded its lead to 29 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown catch by
Trevon Reid.
The Panthers' most effective player was Rios. He ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
The Wolves'
Jake Callaway played well. He ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to six on the year.
When the two teams played each other last season, Chico came away with a 30-21 victory.
