It was a good run, but Highland unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 49-33 to the Veribest Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1157th, while the Falcons are ranked 550th).

Highland now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Veribest, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland and Baird will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Veribest will take on Blackwell in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
