Basketball Recap: Carl Hayden Community Drops Season-High Score on Alhambra

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carl Hayden Community). They claimed a resounding 102-36 win over the Alhambra Lions. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 30 points or more this season.

Tion Wright was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 12 en route to 16 points along with eight steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Damiani Mitchell, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Carl Hayden Community smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

Carl Hayden Community has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Alhambra, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
