Elizabeth Forward has gone a perfect 8-0 against Laurel Highlands recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Laurel Highlands will be up against a hot Elizabeth Forward team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Warriors blew past Oakland Catholic 17-6 on Monday. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.
Aubri Cimba was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Berlyn Holibaugh, who went 2-for-4 with two triples and two RBI.
Elizabeth Forward always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakland Catholic only posted an OBP of .400.
Meanwhile, Laurel Highlands won against Ringgold on Wednesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand Oakland Catholic a 10-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Not much got past Payton Senge, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Oakland Catholic off the board. With that strong performance, Senge is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Laurel Highlands let Kayla Howell and Aubrey Speelman run wild. Howell went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double, while Speelman went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlie Dirda, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Elizabeth Forward pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Laurel Highlands, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Elizabeth Forward hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .418. However, it's not like Laurel Highlands struggles in that department as they've averaged .340. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
