The Friendship Christian Commanders will head out to challenge the Upperman Bees at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Friendship Christian is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Donelson Christian Academy on Tuesday. Friendship Christian never let Donelson Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Commanders haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Sam Duckwiler made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Sellars, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Perez Parker, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Upperman waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Owls as they made off with a 12-1 win. 12 seems to be a good number for the Bees as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Braden Green was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. He has become a key player for Upperman: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Justin Fallon also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Upperman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-7. As for Upperman, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Friendship Christian's speedy runners might be the difference in Saturday's contest. Friendship Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Upperman, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Friendship Christian continue to outrun the ball?
Friendship Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Upperman in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Friendship Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
