ALA - West Foothills has gone a perfect 5-0 against Kingman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Guardians will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
ALA - West Foothills was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Florence on Monday. The Guardians' pitcher stepped up to hand the Gophers a 10-0 shutout.
The team relied heavily on Ave Risati, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Caines, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Kingman got the win against Parker on Monday by a conclusive 18-5.
Destiny Hartley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Jazlyn Bradshaw was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Destiny Kogianes, who went 4-for-6 with five RBI and one run.
Kingman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
ALA - West Foothills has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Kingman, their record is now 9-10.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. ALA - West Foothills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. However, it's not like Kingman struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
ALA - West Foothills took their win against Kingman when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Guardians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
