Baseball Game Preview: Wister Wildcats vs. Cameron Yellow Jackets

Wister has gone a perfect 3-0 against Cameron recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Wister will look to defend their home field against Cameron at 4:00 p.m. Wister will be strutting in after a win while Cameron will be coming in after a loss.

Wister will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Warner on Monday. Wister came out on top against Warner by a score of 10-7. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Jayden Byars, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jagger Dodson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Cameron came up short against Stigler on Monday and fell 6-3. The Yellow Jackets haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Cameron saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jax Adcock, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Cameron's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Wister, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Wister took their victory against Cameron in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 18-1. Does Wister have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cameron turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
