Fairport and Rush-Henrietta are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Fairport Red Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairport has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 331 points over their last five games.
Fairport put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Franklin 75-43 at home. 75 seems to be a good number for Fairport as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Rush-Henrietta earned a 67-54 win over Mendon on Saturday. That looming 67-54 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Rush-Henrietta yet this season.
Rush-Henrietta found their leader in underclassman Jalen Taggart, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taggart has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jahquin Brown, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Fairport's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. As for Rush-Henrietta, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Fairport was able to grind out a solid victory over Rush-Henrietta in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 56-49. Does Fairport have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rush-Henrietta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
