The Clint Lions will face off against the West Plains Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Clint focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
Clint fell victim to Monahans' stalwart defense and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Loboes 40-0. Clint has struggled against Monahans recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, West Plains had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.9 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They blew past Borger 49-3 on the road. West Plains might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for JORDI HERNANDEZ, who rushed for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. HERNANDEZ hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for four straight games. JENSEN PHILLIPS also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Clint has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 4-6 record. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 Fort Stockton and 8-2 Bel Air (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 80% over those games). As for West Plains, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
