Volleyball Recap: Brooke Roberts Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Owosso

Brandon hasn't had much luck at home recently (they'd lost three straight ) but thanks in part to Eleanor Peterson that streak is no more. The Blackhawks put the hurt on the Owosso Trojans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday with plenty of help from Peterson, who had seven aces and three digs. She has been hot, having also posted 13 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Brandon walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-18, 25-20, 25-14.

Brandon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooke Roberts out in front who had nine digs and four assists.

Brandon was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 12 consecutive matchups.

Brandon's record now sits at 10-8. As for Owosso, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Brandon is set to take on their familiar foe Goodrich at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Owosso will face off against rival Lake Fenton at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
