The Chillicothe Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Savannah Savages at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Chillicothe will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Chillicothe earned a 54-41 victory over Kauffman. Given Chillicothe's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Kauffman is ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chillicothe found their leader in underclassman Jaishon White, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. Another player making a difference was James Mathew, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Savannah made off with a 49-48 victory over Bishop LeBlond. The win was just what Savannah needed coming off of a 76-40 loss in their prior contest.
Chillicothe is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Savannah, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
Chillicothe was able to grind out a solid win over Savannah in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 51-39. Does Chillicothe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Savannah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
