Mission Veterans Memorial is a perfect 8-0 against Roma since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Patriots will look to defend their home field against the Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Mission Veterans Memorial lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Alice, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Patriots took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 47-0 win over the Coyotes. The Patriots' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Mission Veterans Memorial found their leader in sophomore Cuauhtemoc Labastida, who picked up two sacks, forced 60 fumbles, and made 14 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mission Veterans Memorial's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Labastida was the leader with two. He is on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Alice's side was Ryan Guerra, who forced one fumble and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Roma lost to Sharyland at home by a 48-31 margin on Friday. The Gladiators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mission Veterans Memorial will have to contain Jorge Tamayo as he made an impact in Roma's last game. He rushed for 100 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 68 yards and one TD. Tamayo has become a key player for Roma: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.
The victory (which was Mission Veterans Memorial's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.8 points over those games. As for Roma, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
We should be in store for an exciting game as Mission Veterans Memorial and Roma have no problem gaining yardage. The Patriots have been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 394.2 total yards per game. However, it's not like Roma struggles in that department as they've been averaging 382.2 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Mission Veterans Memorial took their victory against Roma when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 35-14 score. In that matchup, the Patriots amassed a halftime lead of 21-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
