The Sinton Pirates will head out on the road to take on the West Oso Bears at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sinton has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Rockport-Fulton by a score of 45-33 on Friday.
Meanwhile, West Oso had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 49-36 win over Orange Grove. Given West Oso's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Orange Grove is ranked 1123rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sinton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-17 record this season. As for West Oso, they pushed their record up to 22-7 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Sinton lost to West Oso on the road by a decisive 41-22 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Sinton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
