Softball Recap: Brevard Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

Brevard won the last time they faced North Henderson and things went their way on Thursday too. The Brevard Blue Devils blew past the North Henderson Knights 14-4. Fans of the Blue Devils have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Emma Bailey was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Brevard got a massive performance out of Claire Wilson, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases Wilson has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Cabe, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Brevard's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.9 runs. As for North Henderson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brevard will welcome East Rutherford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Henderson, they will host Tuscola at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. North Henderson has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
