The Yazoo County Panthers will play host again and welcome the Crystal Springs Tigers, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Yazoo County had to suffer through a rough 69-28 loss at the hands of Canton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Yazoo County has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Crystal Springs pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brookhaven. While losing is never fun, Crystal Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Brookhaven is ranked 32nd).
Yazoo County's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for Crystal Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Yazoo County skirted past Crystal Springs 56-54 in their previous meeting back in January of 2021. Does Yazoo County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crystal Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
