Rector gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Corning 15-14. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.
The win bumped Rector's record up to 1-0. The loss dropped Corning's record to 0-2.
Next week Rector take on Piggott at 7:00 PM. Corning will look to defend their home turf against East Poinsett County at 7:00 PM.
