Rancho Bernardo and San Marcos are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Broncos will head out to take on the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rancho Bernardo's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so San Marcos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Rancho Bernardo let Mission Hills stack four runs on them in the first inning last Friday but luckily Rancho Bernardo prevailed anyway. The Broncos walked away with an 8-5 win over the Grizzlies. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Jenalyn Buan was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Ellery Housand was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rancho Bernardo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, San Marcos had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lancers, sneaking past 5-3. Five seems to be a good number for the Knights as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
San Marcos also got a great performance from Charlotte Shelton as she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Shelton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lily Barstad was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Taufa, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Rancho Bernardo's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-7-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for San Marcos, their record is now 11-7.
