In this week's power rankings, we saw one team go soaring up and another team come crashing down, along with everything in between. Among the action were the efforts of Bowling Green's senior Beau Buchanan, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Scott County's 57 - 18 win over Bryan Station last week had a lot to do with the leadership of junior Bronson Brown. Brown rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns. That performance landed Brown among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The showdown between Mayfield (6th in the power rankings) and Corbin (12th) shaped up to be more of a takedown. Mayfield took its game against Corbin by a confident 45 - 21 score. The win boosted Mayfield a satisfying six spots in the power rankings.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another outing, another victory last week for the team with the longest stretch of success (seven consecutive games). Ashland Blazer blew past Rowan County 34 - 6. The MaxPreps rankings were spot on as they projected Ashland Blazer as the clear winner.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between DeSales (8th in the power rankings) and North Hardin (19th). DeSales is backed by a win while North Hardin is motivated by a recent defeat. We'll see if DeSales can add another positive mark to its record or if North Hardin can shake off its loss and take the spring out of DeSales's step.
