The Mountain Home Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Minico Spartans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mountain Home has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 10th.
Mountain Home couldn't beat Burley on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Tigers lost 18-8 to the Bobcats.

Orie Rau was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Minico not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 12th (when they won 16-0). Everything went their way against Canyon Ridge as they made off with a 15-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.
Sammy Jasso made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nye Salinas, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kabry Aragon was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Minico hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon Ridge struck out seven times.
Minico's record is now 4-16. As for Mountain Home, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mountain Home hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Minico struggles in that department as they've averaged .341. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mountain Home suffered a grim 17-2 defeat to Minico in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
