The Cornell Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Union Area 56-23. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cornell in their matchups with Union Area: they've now lost seven in a row.
It was another big night for Lucas Stanley, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals for Union Area. The contest was Stanley's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayne Johnke, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Cornell's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Union Area, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Cornell will head out on the road to face off against Avella at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union Area, they will be playing at home against Western Beaver at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
