Metrolina Christian Academy suffered their biggest  loss since December 3, 2024 on Friday. 2025 welcomed they with  a  55-31 loss courtesy of the Hickory Grove Christian Lions. The Warriors were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting  back in February of 2024.
 Metrolina Christian Academy lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Patrick Depp, who  posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was  Malachi Wilson, who  earned five  points.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hickory Grove Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Kevin Powell, who  went 5 for 8  on his way to 18  points in addition to six  boards and four  steals. The dominant performance gave  Powell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Gavin Kiser, who  dropped  a double-double on ten  points and 15  boards.
Metrolina Christian Academy dropped their record down to 7-8 with the  loss, which was their fifth straight  on the road. As for Hickory Grove Christian, the  win was  the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-8.
 Metrolina Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  53-43  defeat against North Raleigh Christian Academy on the 4th. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Concord Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on January 14th.
