The Dixon Bulldogs will square off against the South Central Falcons on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Dixon comes in on three and South Central on ten.
Dixon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Carrboro an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Kailei Dawsey, who gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Carrboro off the board. Dawsey has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alivia Nokes was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Kaylie Moore was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Meanwhile, South Central won against Swansboro on Wednesday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Falcons' way against Northern Nash as they made off with a 15-0 win. The Falcons are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the ninth game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
The team relied heavily on Lacey Spivey, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lilly Worsley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
South Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .652. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northern Nash only posted an OBP of .000.
South Central's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Dixon, their record now sits at 10-13.
Dixon couldn't quite get it done against South Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
