The Patton Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against R-S Central, falling 64-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Patton of the 49-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Leading R-S Central to victory were Nykeria Petty and A'laila Flack. Petty scored 18 points, while Flack scored 24 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Flack has scored at least a third of R-S Central's points. Katie Caban was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Patton's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-19. As for R-S Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patton will square off against Brevard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for R-S Central, they will head out on the road to challenge East Rutherford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. R-S Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
