Basketball Recap: Bryce Harris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hampton Christian Academy over Portsmouth Christian

After flying high against Summit Christian Academy last Monday, Hampton Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Hampton Christian Academy Warriors took a 63-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Portsmouth Christian Patriots on Friday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Hampton Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryce Harris, who posted 17 points. Harris' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe America, who had 12 points.

Hampton Christian Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Portsmouth Christian, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.

Hampton Christian Academy and Life Christian Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Portsmouth Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-48 defeat against Peninsula Catholic on the 14th.
