The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. Edward in their matchups with St. Francis: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why St. Edward lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Reader. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. That was a full 59.1% of St. Edward's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
St. Edward dropped their record down to 3-10 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for St. Francis, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Edward will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Heartland Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for St. Francis, they will square off against Norfolk Catholic at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
