Meanwhile, Peoria Heights didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Cuba/Spoon River Valley on Monday, but they still walked away with a 53-48 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Peoria Heights.
Nyaja Russell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rianna Foster, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and six blocks.
Henry-Senachwine dropped their record down to 7-17 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.6 points per game. As for Peoria Heights, their victory bumped their record up to 23-6.
Henry-Senachwine was taken down by Peoria Heights 54-23 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Henry-Senachwine was down 34-9.
