St. Joseph Catholic's Nick Beasley rumbled for the longest rushing play in 2A Region 6 this season in his game against Enterprise last week. Beasley's team bested the Yellowjackets as he sprinted for 68 yards on the play and finished with 80 in all.
St. Joseph Catholic extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Enterprise, 67-13. The victory was the 11th in a row for the team.
The Bruins' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nathan Gieb threw for 33 and one touchdown and Beasley had 33 yards receiving. Denarius Odell helped St. Joseph Catholic's passing attack out by catching one ball for 28 yards.
St. Joseph Catholic's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bruins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chris Hanneke has thrown for 911 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Beasley has 15 catches for 459 yards. Brett Burgess leads the league in rushing with 670 yards.
A big matchup in 2A Region 6 this week will be when St. Joseph Catholic takes on Brooks Burns' team. The Bruins are currently in first, while the Yellowjackets are in sixth.
