Celina has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Wapakoneta Redskins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Celina got themselves on the board against Defiance, but Defiance never followed suit. They strolled past the Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 17-0.
Meanwhile, Wapakoneta had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.2 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They blew past Bath 38-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Wapakoneta, who have now won six games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Wapakoneta got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jace Knous out in front who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown. Grant Jolly also helped out with an impressive 105 receiving yards.
Wapakoneta's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Jayden Rampulla and his two sacks.
Celina's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.8 points per game. As for Wapakoneta, their victory on Friday bumped their record up to 7-2.
Celina came up short against Wapakoneta in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 28-22. Can Celina avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
