The Willow Spring Storm put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Garner 75-36 at home. Willow Spring's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Willow Spring's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Gray, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 23 rebounds. Gray also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Kayleen Grullon, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Garner still got an impressive performance from Olivia Jacobs, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Jacobs scored a full 75% of Garner's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Willow Spring pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Garner, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Willow Spring will take on Hillgrove in a holiday battle at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday at. Hillgrove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 132nd in Georgia, while Willow Spring is ranked 31st in North Carolina). Garner will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against C.B. Aycock at 5:30 p.m. on December 20th. C.B. Aycock has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
