The Columbus International Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 11th straight loss. They suffered a tough 69-43 defeat at the hands of Grove City Christian. Columbus International has not had much luck with Grove City Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
It was another big night for Seth Vaughn, who scored 27 points for Grove City Christian. That makes it three consecutive games in which Vaughn has scored at least a third of Grove City Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Ransom, who scored ten points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Columbus International has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Grove City Christian, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus International won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mifflin at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Mifflin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Tuesday. As for Grove City Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Fisher Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
